can you join the army with back problems?

my husband wants to join the royal army. But will he pass the medical with a slipped/crushed disc in his lower back.

1. In the US, you'd need a waiver.
2. i would assume it is the same will all army's that he will need a doctor to deem him fit for duty.
3. N O!!!!!!!!! That will disqualify him.
